One of the best-selling models of General Motors in the crossover category has been the Chevrolet Equinox. With every new edition the popularity of Equinox has taken a bigger leap towards popularity. And that is one of the sole reasons why the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox has attracted so many buyers across the globe. This new model of Chevrolet Equinox has come out with an all-rounded entry in its class.
We had an opportunity to take a closer look at the Pinehurst Chevrolet dealership where we could experience the best of the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox.
Engine and Fuel Economy
The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox comes with three different engine options. The standard one is a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four rated engine that can make a horsepower of 170 and a 203 pound-feet of torque when mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. Its front-wheel drive returns an EPA rating of 26 miles per gallon in the congested roads of the city and 32 mpg on the open highways, while its all-wheel-drive versions give you in return a 25 mpg in the city drives and 30 mpg on the highways.
The other 2.0-liter turbo engine can generate a 252 of horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque but couldn’t deliver a better fuel economy than the other engine. So you can drive with it a 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg in the highway with its front-drive version. With its all-wheel drive version, it gives 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg in the highway even after being mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The interior space of the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox would impress you at the very first glance with its neat and clean appearance with ample space for every passenger, though not providing the best among other comparable crossovers. The cargo space allotted just behind the rear seat would measure 29.9 cubic feet, but by lowering the rear seats the space expands to a total figure of 63.5 cubic feet, which is again sufficient but not class-exclusive.
The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox has to offer two options of touchscreen infotainment screens of 7- and 8-inch ones, with a color trip computer placed behind the wheel to keep the driver informed about every relevant information he needs with a built-in navigation system to guide through the best possible routes. Other available technologies that are installed within include all over LED lighting, a kick-to-open power liftgate, a Wi-Fi hotspot for better connectivity and wireless phone charging option. The active noise cancellation technology comes as standard to keep the cabin quiet even while passing through noisy roads.
As per the Pinehurst Chevrolet dealership, in the 2019 Equinox, active-safety technology is in abundance, especially for the upper trim levels or as optional packages. Chevrolet has installed its Driver Confidence II, as an optional feature on the Premier trim, that covers a pre-collision warning and automatic braking, a 360-degree camera system, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beams and a “Safety Alert Seat” that can vibrate the driver’s seat to create an alert for him about the probable safety hazards.
